It’s a long while since the last time I wrote in this blog, so there are so many thing to say that I don’t know from where to start. 2017 was a year full of new things and changes and I was so absorbed by them that I completely neglected this blog. 2017 wasn’t a fruitful year for language learning, but I can’t say that my Japanese didn’t improve at all. I devoted most of the time to learning new words through reading articles, novels, etc. and I believe that my vocabulary has somehow expanded. Even though I tend to forget most of the words I write down in my notebook, reading more extensively than before helps me to learn new words even if my memory is worsening ahah. My writing skills are still awful because despite the good resolutions I didn’t practiced it at all. I really need to devote more time and energies to enhance my writing skills. To make up for it, I practiced my listening skills by watching dramas lol Here are the one I watched in 2017:

(Black Leather Notebook): 10/10black_leather_notebook_28201729-p1

(Rakuen): 9/10
(Onna no naka ni iru tanin): 8/10
(Mom, may I quit being your daughter?): 8/10
  10. A LIFE~愛しき人~: 9/10
(Koi ga heta demo ikitemasu): 8/10
(Hokuto): 9/10 (this drama literally made me cry)
(Criminal syndrome): 9/10
(I’m your destiny): 9/10
(Papa katsu): 6/10
(Lurker in the Garret): 7/10

I wish you a wonderful 2018, hoping that will ne fruitful for language learning 🙂

  • Otosan to yobasete (9/10)
  • Haburashi onna tomodachi (8/10)

  • Boku no yabai tsuma (8/10)
  • Hi no ko (8/10)

  • Jimi ni sugoi (8/10)
  • Kuroi 10-nin no onna (8/10)
  • Kakuregiku (8/10)

Then there are other two dramas I watched, but they aren’t of this year: Yakou Kanransha and Ichiro (the only jidaigeki I watched in 2016 T_T)

Even though I watched some fantastic dramas, overall 2016 dramas weren’t as good as I expected. Hope to watch amazing dramas in 2017 ahaha

It seems that I’m continuing to update the blog less often than I used to D:

These weeks have been quite busy, but I’ve managed to keep the good habit of studying Japanese every morning (: During the past days I studied a new chapter of the grammar textbook and learned some kanji and new words. I listened to podcasts while going to university and watched dramas ^ ^

So far, my favourite drama of this season is 砂の塔. This suspense drama is so good that I even thought to stop watching it because I couldn’t bear the tension ahah

Yesterday I watched the 6th episode and, well, I fell in love with the antagonist after seeing how beautiful she was while wearing a kimono lol

I like the OST too, especially because the lyrics are connected with the themes of the drama (;

Naomi to Kanako

The other day I finished watching all the winter dramas I had planned to watch… Well, actually I didn’t watch two of the six dramas in my list (Kera and Chikaemon, because I didn’t find the former and I found the latter only without subtitles, so it was really difficult to understand because the language used was not only archaic, but also contaminated by expressions in Osaka dialect).

The drama I liked the most is Naomi to Kanako. As you now I’m addicted to suspense dramas, and this one was really captivating! After finishing watching an episode, I was always eager for the unfolding of the story in the next episode 😀 I highly recommend this drama.

I also love the OST!

I’ll never gonna let it go

Ooh

Don’t wanna cry no more

Don’t wanna hurt no more

Don’t wanna cry no more

on my mind Where

Ooh

Don’t wanna cry no more

Don’t wanna hurt no more

Don’t wanna cry no more

I’ll never gonna let go

Don’t wanna cry no more

Don’t wanna hurt no more

Don’t wanna cry no more

Don’t wanna cry, don’t wanna cry

Don’t wanna cry no more

Dramas I’m planning to watch

Winter’s started, so I’ve made a list of the winter dramas I’d like to watch (:

1. Haburashi Onna Tomodachi

I watched to episodes and so far it seems quite interesting.

2. Itooshikute

I usually don’t watch this genre of dramas, but I think that I shouldn’t watch only suspence and historical dramas xD

3. Naomi to Kanako

I’ve just finished the first episodes and I’m already absorbed by it.

2. Chikaemon

This is the only jidaigeki in my list T_T

5. Otosan to yobasete

 I usually don’t watch comedies, by I want to give this drama a chance (;

2015 dramas

Finally Christmas holidays have begun and the end of the year is getting closer and closer, so it’s time to write the list of all the dramas I watched during the year 😀

  • Atsuhime 10/10 (2008)
  • Osen 7/10 (2008)
  • JIN 1&2 10/10 (2009, 2011): my favourite jidaigeki together with Tempest
  • Youkoso, wagaya e 10/10 (2015)
  • Answer 9/10 (2012)
  • Marumaru tsuma 10/10 (2015)
  • Tsuma wa kunoichi 8/10 (2013): I didn’t like the story very much, but I loved the atmosphere (:
  • Hana moyu (2015): I haven’t finished watching it yet, but I think the vote is 8/10 because I found the first episodes quite boring
  • Hanasaki mai ga damatteinai 1&2 9/10 (2014, 2015): I really enjoyed this dorama, so I hope there will be a 3rd season too ^^
  • Ghost writer 10/10 (2015)
  • N no tame ni 10/10  (2014): This is absolutely one of my favourite dramas!
  • Utsukushiki wana 8/10 (2015)
  • Siren 8/10 (2015): I was a amazed at the first seven episodes, but then the story turned out to be quite disappointing T_T
  • Border 6/10 (2014)
  • Godan: this is still airing

This year I watched two Korean dramas too:

  • The moon embracing the sun: I really loved it, but the end was preatty expected
  • Queen In-hyun’s man: I started watching this with Japanese subtitle while I was still syudying Korean, but eventually I stopped watching it

New 大奥

Some days ago Fuji TV announced the release of two new special of the serie 大奥 starring Sawajiri Erika.

I watched only 大奥’s 2006 movie, but after watching Atsu Hime I got interested in the world of the inner chamber. Most of dramas are about samurai or the middle classes in Edo, so it’s interesting to watch dramas that give a vision of history from a different point of view (;

I don’t know well Sawajiri Erika (I saw her only in ようこそ、我が家へ), but I can say that the luxury kimonos worn by high ranked ladies suit her lol
